Turag river polluted in Dhaka, Bangladesh

People wash dishes in pitch-black water of the Turag river to thewest of Tongi Bridge in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Turag, Buriganga and Balu river water still contaminated with toxic wastes as the pollution source could not be plugged, dissoved oxygen is too low for aquatic lives to survive in the Buriganga river. Hazaribagh tanneries are still dumping wastes in the Buriganga river and excreta of millions of city dwellers are still emptying into the Buriganga river through Wasa storm sewers everyday. The river pollution continuing unabated.
